Physics Vocabulary Unit 2

Scalar – a quantity that has magnitude but no direction

Vector – a quantity that has both magnitude and direction

Resultant – the sum of two or more vectors

Components of a Vector – the horizontal and vertical projections of a vector along the axes of a coordinate system

Pythagorean Theorem – in a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides
