What charity did you choose to support?
I supported the elderly through CIGEO.
Why did you choose this particular charity?
Because some elderly people may think there’s no one out there to take care of them.
What business did you partner with?
I partnered with MandF Scents, High Main10ance, In Strength and Honor, Concert Nation, Inside the House Candles, CIGEO-Tyrone Dantzler, and Mariam’s Creation.
Why did you choose them?
Because CIGEO was a local nonprofit organization to help the elderly. The others were willing to help and I had a relationship with some and developed a relationship with others.
How did you partner with them to raise money and awareness of your cause?
I met with them on different occasions.
How much money did you raise, and how do these dollars translate onto actual impact with the charity?
So far I’ve raised 2,285 dollars, it will impact for the charity through buying supplies for those elderly in the community that have no family support.
What made you most proud? Seeing people actually care about the elderly and willing to help no matter what the cause is. I’m also glad that I set an example for other people.
What obstacles did you overcome to complete this challenge?
I Overcame being shy.
What are the greatest lessons you learned?
I learned that its ok to not know but you have to try no matter what.
What are the most important skills you developed?
Try and you might succeed if you don’t try you may not succeed. To communicate and it is okay to receive a no.

I believe that people who have been discriminated against deserve justice and the ACLU of MD helps people get justice. - What business did you partner with?
Publix of NC - Why did you choose them?
Because it is a local grocery store that I go to. - How did you partner with them to raise money and awareness for your cause?
I requested for a $50 Publix gift card to raffle off and at the end of August 2020, I raffled it off. - How much money did you raise, and how do these dollars translate into actual impact with the charity?
I raised $500. They go into supporting people that need justice for racial inequality and discrimination. - What made you most proud?
I am serving my community and helping people around me. - What obstacles did you overcome to complete this challenge?
I had to work with time and try to raise money for the charity in a creative way. - What are the greatest lessons you learned?
I had to learn how to be more organized. - What are the most important skills you developed?
Communication and leadership skills.
