Prerequisite: Prealgebra
Recommended: 8th, 9th
Course Description: Students will engage in real world and handson problem solving while using their developing skills in algebra. Students will learn new material through animations, videos, reading, and guided practice. The topics covered in this course include: real numbers, algebraic expressions, graphing to solve inequalities and absolute value, graphing to solve linear equations, systems of equations, factoring polynomial equations, relations and functions, quadratic equations, radical and rational expressions and equations, and probability. Students will also do timed PSAT practice questions.
We do know of an algebra course that has a Spanish translation for its lesson text. There are two parts to the Algebra 1 course. You could use it, or you could use this to look up any extra help on a topic. The links will give you a list of topics.

Lesson 1* (Note that an asterisk * indicates that there is a worksheet in this Lesson)
Welcome to your first day of school! I wanted to give you one important reminder before you begin. Many of your lessons below have an internet link for you to click on. When you go to the different internet pages for your lessons, please DO NOT click on anything else on that page except what the directions tell you to. DO NOT click on any advertisements or games. DO NOT click on anything that takes you to a different website. Just stay focused on your lesson and then close that window and you should be right back here for the next lesson. Okay?
If you didn’t get here through My EP Assignments, I suggest you go there and create an account.
This course has an offline option. If you’d like to be able to work offline, check that out. Learn about offline book options here. We do have an OPTIONAL quiz book. If you like the idea of a daily quiz so you have a record of written work and a “real” grade for each day, you can buy the quiz book and use it daily. You can find it on the same link as the other books for Algebra 1. The grading sheets for the course do not reflect daily quiz grades.
*Print out your first quarter grading sheet. Save this sheet and record your scores.
