Tips to make your biography more interesting to read:
- Remember that a biography is a story, a narrative. Include details so your readers can imagine the events unfolding. People, places, and events should be included.
- Create a purpose – why are you writing about this person in particular?
- Don’t jump around chronologically unless it makes sense to do so because there are definite themes that you’re tracing through the person’s life. In general though, you’re telling a life story, and life moves chronologically.
-
- Your introduction and conclusion can be excluded from this tip due to the nature of those paragraphs.
-
- Create a thesis or claim just like you would in any other essay. This will help your readers know where you’re going with your essay and allow them to stay more engaged.
