There is a video below if you don’t want to read, but you just need to read one day at a time for your assignment.
Spring Cleaning Steps
- empty out the space
- clean it
- remove stuff you’re no longer using
- put the rest back organized
Here are your assignments.
Day 1 Clothes
Take everything out. Wipe the drawers. Pass on to someone else anything too small or that you don’t wear but is in good shape. Repurpose or get rid of stuff that’s stained or ripped, etc. Put the rest back organized. Fold it. Put the tops in one drawer. The bottoms in another drawer. Put the current season clothes in easier to reach drawers. Maybe put out of season clothes maybe in the bottom drawer, etc.

Day 2 Closet
If you share a bedroom closet, divide and conquer or one of you take another closet in the house. Empty.
Clean – vacuum, cobwebs, etc. Get rid of stuff. Put back organized.
Be a cheerful worker!
Day 3 Toys/games/puzzles
Empty. Clean. Remove. Organize.
Like clothing, you can pass on what’s in good condition, but other things you no longer use need to be repurposed or gotten rid of. You can hold onto a few toys for younger kids you no longer use to have on hand for guest children. Find a place for them away from the everyday stuff.

Day 4 Books and school stuff
One note: I do keep a few board books for little visitors. I donate our outgrown books to a teacher in a poor school district.
Be a cheerful worker!
Day 5 Ask a parent what would be helpful.
Maybe tackle something in the kitchen. Maybe the fridge. Maybe wash windows.
